Carol Craig
Founder, CEO & Board Chair
Ms. Carol Craig is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Sidus Space, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIDU), an innovative space and defense technology company with core capabilities that include dual use satellite manufacturing & technology integration, AI products and services, space and defense hardware components and space-based data solutions. In December 2021, she led Sidus Space through its initial public offering, becoming one of the first female founders to take a space company public. Under her leadership, the Company has raised approximately $300 million, earned inclusion in the Russell index, and transitioned from technology development to commercialization across defense, intelligence, civil, and commercial markets.
Ms. Craig is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Craig Technologies, an engineering and technology firm that has provided support to commercial and government customers since 1999.
Ms. Craig earned a BA in Computer Science from Knox College and a BS in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Illinois. She holds an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as well as an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Florida Institute of Technology. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology.
A former U.S. Navy P-3 Orion Naval Flight Officer, Ms. Craig was among the first women eligible to fly in combat aircraft and was also one of the first female aviators to successfully complete the U.S. Navy’s Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Training.
Over the course of her career, she has served on more than 30 boards spanning education, aerospace and defense, and nonprofit organizations, underscoring her leadership and broad influence across both industry and community service.
Patrick Butler
Chief Operating Officer
Patrick Butler is the Chief Operating Officer for Sidus Space, responsible for leading the company’s end-to-end operational execution, including engineering, program management, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain. In this role, he oversees the development, production, integration, launch readiness, and on-orbit operation of Sidus Space’s satellite systems and compute products, with accountability for technical performance, program execution, and operational scalability to support Sidus Space’s strategic growth objectives.
Prior to joining Sidus Space, Mr. Butler served as the Director of Launch Execution for Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket where he was responsible for launch and recovery mission planning and external regulatory coordination, in addition to operations management of the launch pad and the launch team’s training and certification program. Previous roles at Blue included management of the New Glenn Supply Chain at Blue Origin’s Orbital Launch Site. Prior to joining Blue, Patrick worked for Bell Helicopter’s Innovation Team supporting the development of new unmanned aerial vehicles.
Mr. Butler began his career as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps flying the UH-1Y Huey for over ten years. He held a series of major leadership roles including the Logistics Department Head during a combat deployment to Helmand Province, Afghanistan and Operations Officer for the Marine Aviation Training System Site in Hawaii where he led the operations of all aircraft simulator systems for Marine Aircraft Group 24.
Mr. Butler holds a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the United States Naval Academy and two master’s degrees in Aeronautics/Astronautics and Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Alan Khalili
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Alan Khalili is the Chief Financial Officer of Sidus Space, responsible for financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, internal controls, compliance, capital allocation, and investor relations. He has spent his career in data-driven businesses, much of it in the space sector, and has held finance, operating, and chief executive roles across publicly traded and high-growth companies.
Prior to joining Sidus Space, Mr. Khalili served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Kleos Space, a space-based radio frequency reconnaissance and intelligence data company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, which he joined as Chief Financial Officer in 2022. Earlier, he co-founded Aireon, the global aviation-surveillance data platform, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. At Aireon he raised $280 million in equity, secured a $400 million senior debt facility, and played a leading role in negotiating approximately $420 million in long-term customer contracts, building the company's finance and operating functions as it grew from concept to a fully financed constellation of operating satellites.
Before Aireon, Mr. Khalili managed corporate development, treasury, and risk management at Iridium Communications, where he supported the company's initial public offering and co-negotiated the loan documentation for its $2.9 billion satellite constellation financing. He previously led corporate development at Reuters, acquiring and divesting businesses across the financial information sector. Mr. Khalili began his career in the audit practice at Ernst & Young and later joined Credit Suisse First Boston, where he executed 32 financings totaling approximately $711 million across senior debt, mezzanine, and equity. That breadth shapes how he thinks about capital: how it is raised, where it is placed, and what it has to produce.
Mr. Khalili holds a BS in Accounting from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He passed the CPA examination in 1990.
John Roy
Chief Business & People Officer
Mr. John Roy is a highly accomplished human resources executive with a proven track record of leading geographically dispersed teams to achieve both talent and business objectives. He offers deep expertise in talent management, HR operations, employment branding and culture, and organizational change, with experience spanning global consumer products, high-tech engineering and manufacturing, aerospace and defense, financial services, healthcare, and a $3 billion family office. Widely recognized for his ability to develop leaders and drive organizational improvement, John has delivered consistent results across diverse industries. His dynamic leadership style was shaped during his service in the U.S. Navy, where he honed the skills that continue to define his professional success.
Val Ojdanic
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Valerij Ojdanic is an accomplished technology leader with more than two decades of expertise in electronics design. He joined Sidus Space to drive innovation in satellite communications systems and radiation-hardened technologies. Prior to joining Sidus, he specialized in analog and digital systems, PCB design, and microprocessor development, making significant contributions to advancements in aerospace and satellite technology. Val holds a patent for an EMI filtering solution, reflecting his innovative approach and technical depth. With a strong engineering foundation and strategic vision, he plays a key role in developing cutting-edge solutions for space exploration. His dedication to advancing aerospace technology aligns closely with Sidus Space’s mission to deliver comprehensive life-cycle aerospace solutions.
